“Bandits” is a song that chronicles the exploits of criminal gangs involved in mass student kidnappings, abduction for ransom, cattle rustling, and property destruction in Nigeria’s northwest and north-central states. This song is part of Mustiboy’s upcoming studio album, The Chronicles of Hunger.

The “Bandits” music video highlights the themes of insecurity, poverty, and corruption that inspired the song. Through a series of vignettes, the video depicts the harsh realities of life in areas terrorized by criminal gangs, where violence is commonplace and there is little hope of intervention by authorities.

“The northwest and north-central parts of Nigeria have been under siege by bandits and kidnappers for a long time,” said Mustiboy. “‘Bandits’ is my way of speaking up for the voiceless victims and shining a light on their plight. The music video aims to raise awareness about the inhumane conditions people in those areas are subjected to.”

Mustiboy is a Reggae artist known for fusing reggae sounds with traditional afro music styles. His lyrics often touch on social issues affecting Nigerian youth, including poverty, lack of economic opportunity, and government corruption.
